El Paso Speedway Park, located at 14751 Marina Blvd., is a .375-mile, oval track made of clay with a semi-banked track for fast competitive racing that vehicles tear through from 60 to 100 miles per hour.
Every Friday from May to September, the gates open at 5:30 p.m. The racing begins at 7:45 p.m. with the raising of the colors and the national anthem.
Race heats are divided by vehicle types. Points are accumulated to see who will be the champion at the end of the season. After the races are finished for the evening, the pit gates are open and the fans are allowed to see the cars up close, meet the drivers, get autographs and take pictures.
Tickets for military, dependents and children ages 6 to 15 are $9.
