Dayley’s Update …

Col. Brant V. Dayley, Garrison Commander

Col. Brant V. Dayley,
Garrison Commander:

Hello Team Bliss. I hope that everyone had a relaxing Memorial Day weekend, taking much-needed time to reconnect with family and friends. There were many fitting Memorial Day tributes here in El Paso and Fort Bliss, and we are blessed to live in an area with so many heroes.

I’m excited to be back at Fort Bliss, the Army home for the Dayley family on and off for the past 24 years. Nancy and I have raised our children here, and enjoy the climate, culture and great Mexican food – I certainly hope each of you takes advantage of this wonderful community during what I’m sure will be the best tour in your Army careers.

As the new Fort Bliss garrison commander, it’s my privilege to serve the Soldiers, families, civilians and retirees of this community. I believe leaders create a climate that fosters trust, compassion, stability and hope. Command Sgt. Maj. Phil Pandy, garrison command sergeant major, and I will work closely with the entire Team Bliss community to meet this challenge. In order to succeed, we will need the support, and input, from the community and I look forward to active feedback as we circulate across this great post, unit chains of command, and social media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc.).

Our garrison motto is “Best Service, First Choice.” This starts and ends with customer service. Everyone who is part of the Fort Bliss community is our customer, and I expect you will receive first-class service and a can-do attitude by everyone you interact with. That is tough to sustain during this period of constrained resources, but we are redoubling our efforts and will meet the challenges today and in the future. Our garrison team will listen to your input in order to learn and understand, and our leaders are empowered to act in order to meet the senior mission commander’s intent.

Fort Bliss has given so much to the Dayley family, and I am honored to be here serving with you all today. Fort Bliss is a large family, and our El Paso community offers so much to all of us. I look forward to the many months ahead working to make the greatest Army installation even greater. To go to COL D’s Facebook page visit www.facebook.com/tellittoColD.
