Ashley M. Alameda,
DoMaD PAO:

The Directorate of Mobilization and Deployment, or DoMaD, held an NCO induction ceremony to celebrate the promotion of eight Soldiers to the Noncommissioned Officer Corps Sept. 14.

In a small event in Bldg. 1080, seven sergeants from the 841st Engineer Battalion, Army Reservists from Miami, were honored. The unit arrived at Fort Bliss to demobilize Sept. 7 after completing route clearance and construction missions in the northern part of Afghanistan.

Also honored was one of DoMaD’s NCOs, Sgt. Edward C. McCoy. McCoy is an Army Reservist on an active-duty tour. He is a unit supply specialist and also holds the additional specialty of motor transport operator and has been in the Army since 1982.

Hosted by Sgt. 1st Class Andrew J. Pitts, the 30-minute ceremony included a motivational speech by DoMaD’s Sgt. Maj. Gabriel R. Jimenez, who also administered the Oath of the U.S. Army Noncommissioned Officer.

“Today we will hear the Creed of the Noncommissioned Officer,” said Jimenez. “If you remember one part of this creed, let it be the first line that states ‘No one is more professional than I.’ Let this be your phrase and your guide as you do business.”
