Fort Bliss welcomes congressional staffers

More than 60 congressional staff members are participating in a three-day military training exercise throughout Fort Bliss ranges and facilities from Wednesday to Friday. The “staffers” are scheduled to conduct physical training with Soldiers, live-fire weapons familiarization range, rappel training, key-leader engagement and urban assault, simulator-based training with Humvees and mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicles. Throughout the last seven years, Fort Bliss has constructed numerous training facilities, becoming the Army’s largest training area, and since 9/11 Fort Bliss personnel have trained and deployed more than 225,000 Soldiers to combat operations overseas.
