MCGREGOR RANGE, N.M. – Soldiers undergoing military occupational specialty training launched two missiles at aerial target drones during a live-fire exercise here Friday.
Two Patriot Advanced Capability-2 missiles were fired by 3rd Battalion, 6th Air Defense Artillery Brigade Soldiers in MOS-training courses, including the Patriot fire control enhanced operator, Patriot launching station enhanced operator/maintainer, Patriot Master Gunner and Warrant Officer Basic courses. The purpose of the exercise was for Soldiers to perform all associated tasks in employing the Patriot weapons system, then acquiring, engaging and destroying an aerial-borne threat.
