The last two of a shipment of six Mi-17 Hip helicopters were sent to Pakistan from the Departure/Arrival Airfield Control Group operations facility June 22.
The six helicopters were owned and under the control of the 3rd Battalion, 210th Aviation Regiment, to build the aviation capabilities of partner nations in the global war on terrorism.
The battalion’s mission of foreign internal defense for aviators from abroad is unique within the Army. While a number of units throughout the Army do FID missions, 3-210th Avn. Regt. is the only unit dedicated solely to aviation FID.
